Family members of an Okotoks man who died in Hawaii while scuba diving are in shock.
On Wednesday, 49-year-old Bill Savage was on a private dive with his wife and son when he was pushed into the water by a surge.
Savage did manage to pull himself onto some rocks, but didn’t resurface when a second surge struck.
Savage’s 17-year-old daughter was on a nearby boat when the drowning happened.
His brother-in-law tells The Calgary Sun his death is hard to process as Savage was a very healthy and strong man.
Savage was the owner of Fringe Fencing in Okotoks.
