Fire at northeast strip mall

Business owners and employees of a strip mall in Calgary’s northeast are in shock following an early morning blaze that destroyed a half a dozen shops.
Fire crews were called to the 5100 block of 47th Street northeast around 2 a.m. to put-out the flames.
One shop owner, whose business was not insured claims he saw drug deals take place around ASAP Auto Repairs, where it appears the fire originated.
Others also tell 660News ASAP shop had been broken into a couple times.
Calgary police spokesperson Emma Poole says it’s too dangerous for investigators to get into the damaged building.
“Once our investigators are able to get inside they will have a better idea whether were looking at an arson or an accident,” Poole says.
Police say they won’t go inside until the building is demolished.
