Alberta Premier Redford dismisses possible north-south split with Wildrose

EDMONTON – Alberta Premier Alison Redford is dismissing suggestions that the province is heading for a north-south split in Monday’s provincial election.
Redford says she doesn’t believe the southern half will turn to the Wildrose while her Progressive Conservatives dominate in the north.
She says her party’s platform speaks to everyone, and predicts that will translate to broad support.
The premier and Wildrose rival Danielle Smith are making last ditch appearances in and around Edmonton and Calgary this weekend.
Polls suggest the Wildrose has a slight lead.
If it holds, the Wildrose will make history by ending a 40-year Tory dynasty.
