Last day of advance polling in provincial election

A number of Calgarians spent their Saturday casting their votes for the provincial election.
Those at the advanced polling station at Falconridge Crescent said they came out to vote Saturday to skip the lineups on Election Day, April 23rd.
“They are going so busy on Monday,” said one Calgarian.
“I’m skipping the crowds and just getting it done with,” added another.
PC Leader Alison Redford, the only party leader in Calgary, paid a visit to McKenzie Towne Sobeys before door-knocking in the southwest.
Despite forecasts southern Alberta will go to the Wildrose Party in Monday’s election, the premier said she’s feeling confident about her party’s chances.
“Certainly talking to our candidates in Calgary, they’re very optimistic, I think we’re going to see good representation for us Progressive Conservatives across the province,” she said.
Redford wrapped up the day at the Heritage Park Gasoline Alley Museum.
Meanwhile, Wildrose Leader Danielle Smith started the day in Fort Saskatchewan, before heading to a seniors centre near Edmonton.
Liberal Leader Raj Sherman was in Red Deer visiting shops and a mall before heading north to Edmonton.
Also in the capital, NDP Leader Brian Mason visited an Italian market, Chinatown and held a rally.
