A motorcyclist is in Foothills Hospital recovering from serious injuries after crashing into the back of a car along Memorial Drive.

Police say the collision happened around 6:00 p.m. Monday in the eastbound lanes of Memorial near Deerfoot Trail.

They say a motorcycle crashed into the back bumper of a Toyota Yaris as traffic slowed while approaching an interchange.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the collision; any witnesses are asked to call the Calgary Police Traffic Section.
