A man was rushed to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation after a southwest duplex went up in flames.
Batt. Chief Al Magwood says when crews arrived just after 9 p.m. Thursday to the home along Wellington Place in Wildwood, they found a man who had escaped the fire on his own, lying on the front lawn. He was treated on-scene and then transported to hospital.
He says crews also saved a dog from the blaze.
Crews remain on scene to put out hot spots, and the attached home was not significantly damaged.
The arson unit is investigating.
