Turtles not coming back to Devonian Gardens

When the Devonian Gardens reopen this summer, there’s one reptile that won’t be getting a renewed invitation.
The Calgary Herald reports turtles won’t be back among the more than two dozen reptiles removed from the gardens in 2008 for renovations.
City staffers say the concern is turtles bite, both visitors and other fish, and can carry diseases like salmonella.
The newly redesigned Devonian Gardens is expected to open in late June or early July.
