Plans unveiled for new southwest park

The City has released plans, and is looking for public feedback, for a new park on the west end of Calgary.

Accentuating nature and conservation, Clearwater Legacy Park sits on 65 hectares of land at the end of West Glenmore Trail — along the north side of the Elbow River — just outside city limits in the southwest.

According to the Calgary Herald, the plans call for pathways, boardwalks, a washroom building, a picnic shelter, as well as parking for 62 vehicles and three buses among other things.

The land was donated in 1979 by the Devonian Group with the caveat that it be an environmentally protected recreation facility.

You can offer your input on the new park until May 25th by going to the following website:   www.calgary.ca/parks.
