90 new affordable housing units will soon be available to the seniors who need them most.
The units are part of a new $10.8 million facility being built at the corner of Kensington Road and Crowchild Trail.
The project was spearheaded by the Calgary Lions Club.
Wing-Kun Tam, President of The International Association of Lions Clubs, planted a tree out in front of the building to celebrate the milestone.
He says it’s remarkable to see the work Calgary Lions have accomplished.
It’s anticipated the building will be ready by the fall.
Suites will be rented out to seniors ten to twenty per cent below market value.
