Heritage Parks reopens for the summer

Why go camping when you can go back in time?
The “May long” is opening weekend at Heritage Park.
Experience what life was like when Calgary had it’s first boom and first Stampede.
The park’s Barb Monroe tells 660News there’s new attractions at the park this year.
“We have music in the plaza. It’s a free summer concert series. We’ve done it in the past you know a couple nights, but this year we’re doing t every Wednesday, all summer long. They’re in the front area of the park here, nice green space, you can bring a picnic and blanket,” she adds.
If it happens to rain there’s still plenty to do including visiting the Opera House, entrepreneurs at shops and homes, and cooking on the wood stove in the old ranchhouse.
On Victoria Day Monday, the first 500 people through the gates will receive a complementary pancake breakfast.
