Worry over more pine beetles

A lot of us love a mild winter but unfortunately, so do the pine beetles.
Extreme cold weather and fluctuating temperatures are best for killing the beetles and provincial officials are hoping the mild conditions haven’t put them back at square one.
Duncan MacDonnell with Sustainable Resource Development tells the Calgary Sun they’ve seen the numbers of the bugs drop in the province’s pine trees.
Crews are taking samples this month to get a better idea of what they may be dealing with this year.
