Where were you 23 years ago when the Calgary Flames won their one and only Stanley Cup?
It was 1989 and the series with the Montreal Canadiens started on May 14 and lasted until the 24th. The Flames won the cup in game 6 in Montreal.
Lisa says she was nine years old when it happened and she remembers it clearly. She was driving in a pick up truck with her mom when she heard people screaming and saw them running in street with signs celebrating.
Cynthia remembers crying in Barrie Ont., because she was and still is a Montreal Canadians fan.
Doug Gilmour scored the winning goal, the final score was 4-2 and the MVP was Al MacInnis.
