The spotlight shines on 100 years of Ukrainian culture over the weekend.
Grey Gnyra tells 660News the weekend events are spiritually uplifting and bring the community together.
“It’s a wonderful way to increase the unity in the community. Just to have all the different types of organization. For example, the Ukrainian-Canadian Congress essentially like the umbrella organization for Ukrainian groups and includes, the dance groups, the churches, the school groups,” he adds.
Plenty of food and entertainment are a big part of the festivities at the Acadia Recreation Complex.
The community will mark the milestone with an official visit from his Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuck, the patriarch and head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.
