Alberta Health Services has lifted the boil water advisory for three of the six northwest Calgary communities that were affected.
Residents of Sherwood, Hamptons, and Hidden Valley no longer have to boil tap water before consuming it.
But they are being told to flush the pipe system of their homes by running each tap used for drinking for five minutes.
Also, wash tap aerators and screens in hot soapy water then disinfect them, and disinfect any water filters to the manufacturer’s recommendations
Extensive testing indicates water quality in these three communities meets the standards and is safe to drink.
The boil water advisory is still in effect for Nolan Hill, Sage Hill, and Kincora.
Crews are working around the clock to restore water quality to these three remaining communities.
The precautionary advisory was issued Thursday night due to high levels of sediment in an isolated part of the city’s water system.
