The city of Airdrie has been tapped to host the 2014 Alberta Summer Games.
Minister of Tourism Christine Cusanelli says the city was chosen because of it’s tremendous spirit and hospitality.
More than 3,000 athletes, coaches and officials will take part in the games.
“As host of the 2014 Alberta Summer Games, we will ensure the athletes, coaches, their families and friends experience a safe, fun event that will create memories to last a life time,” said Peter Brown, Mayor of Airdrie. “We have the community spirit, the volunteers and the facilities. We have what it takes to make the Alberta Summer Games a great success.”
This year’s summer games run from July 26-29th in Lethbridge.
