The prowler trying to get into your car could be a good guy!
City police have launched a new initiative to get information and advice out to residents on how to prevent theft. Later, officers will be checking to see if people are paying attention.
The pilot project was launched Saturday in Discovery Ridge, in the city’s southwest, where there have been a lot of car prowlings lately.
Police will be going around one night soon to check if vehicles are open and if owners have taken their advice.
It includes keeping vehicles locked, taking out your valuables, and removing your garage door opener, which police say thieves can use to get into the house.
When it comes to the home, the CPS advice includes locking your doors whether you’re home or not, and keeping the windows closed at night.
