Top Canada day destinations

Canadians are staying close to home as they celebrate Canada Day.

Travel discount website Hotwire.com is out with a list of the top 10 most popular Canada Day destinations based on hotel bookings.

Last year, the list was split between Canadian and U.S. locations, but this year, seven of the 10 places are north of the border.

New to the list are Niagara Falls, Halifax and Calgary, which landed in 9th place.

Toronto remains the top destination for Canada’s national day; Ottawa moved up to second spot and Montreal is third.
