The Calgary Humane Society has been overrun by cats, and as a result it has a deal for you!
The Humane Society’s Christy Thompson says they need to find homes for 452 cats.
“If anybody in Calgary has been thinking about adding a cat to their family,” says Thompson, “this is the time to do it. We need to free up some of that space in adoptions so that we can get some of the holding space freed up.”
Thompson adds they have so many cats, they’re even asking existing feline owners to adopt. And they have advice if you think your current Garfield might have problems adapting to a new playmate.
“We’ve got lots of advice,” she says. “Our adoption staff and our behaviour staff can help you in copious ways. If you’re worried about your old cat meeting your new cat.”
The adoption fee has been reduced for kittens and cats, and includes the cost of vaccinations, spaying and neutering surgery, microchip implementation or tattooing as well as a complimentary exam by a vet. There is also a special deal for those who adopt more than one cat.
