City expanding successful taxi experiment

City politicians are expanding a successful downtown cab experiment to six busy business hubs.
Kensington, Uptown 17th Avenue, 4th Street, 1st Street, Victoria Park and Inglewood will get their own fire hydrant taxi stands.
The project allows taxis to park in front of fire hydrants where there’s a high demand for parking and not a lot of space for vehicles and cabs.
The owner of Mayfair Taxi tells The Calgary Sun the move to expand service is welcome, but if it begins to cost the company it will become an issue.
