PolliNation Day offers tips to balance the ecosystem

Planting your garden strategically can help boost declining pollinator populations which, in turn, will help your own health.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday you can visit Ralph Klein Park to learn all about this where a group is gathered for PolliNation Day!

Planting things like carrots, dill or coriander can go a long way to help balance the ecosystem, but event organizer Lauren Shanahan says if you’re not a gardener, there are other things you can do:

“Buying organic; supporting local farmers,” says Shanahan.  “They are contributing well to the natural ecosystem and they can actually help support pollinators which can give back to their farm and which gives back to the natural ecosystem and helps everybody.”

PolliNation Day events are happening all over the country.
