Daytripper: Unique stops through southern Alberta

Take Highway 2 to Olds and from Highway 27, make a left onto Range Road 3; follow the yellow signs to gaze upon a number of barley crops in the area. Once on Highway 766 heading south, take the gravel road west to an old crossing of Dog Pound Creek.
For a side trip, follow signs to Kernels Corn Maze, offering up a 10-acre corn maze, with a three-acre picnic area. If children are along for the ride, they can enjoy the kidz corral, critter corner and snack shack.
Get on to Bergen Road and continue west past Highway 22 and turn north onto Westward Ho Road, passing a couple more crop fields. Continuing north, there will be an entrance to Westward Hoe Park, a great spot for a picnic or a swim in the Little Red Deer River on a hot day.
After passing Sundre, head east down Highway 587. There will be signs for Pearsons Berry Farm, which boasts great Saskatoon berries.
Continuing east on Highway 587 on the south side of the road is Vitality Crystals and Fountains, “A great place to embrace your energy and vibration and experience the healing benefits of crystals.”
