Albertans turned away from B.C. Emergency Response

Albertans are responsible for 27 per cent of B.C’s annual tourism revenue and yet, continue to be snubbed by the provincial government during the flood disaster.
Visitors from our province fleeing washed-out highways and soaked homes were turned away from B.C’s Emergency Operations Centre and told to call their insurance companies.
The Minister of Justice in B.C tells The Calgary Sun the snub was merely a misunderstanding.
But B.C. has a provincial rule blocking tourists from receiving help under the emergency social service program, meaning no shelter, food and clothing for visitors.
