Wild weather swings through central Alberta

There is a confirmed report of a tornado touching down west of Didsbury, the storm destroyed a barn and uprooted some trees on a farm.
Didsbury resident Greg Norris tells 660News, it’s the worst storm he’s ever driven through.
“Once I got just north of Olds it started to hail, I pulled off the road at that point and it hailed for a bit and it was gross and then it got better, so I resumed driving until Bowden when it hit again, north of Innisfail at that point it was wind, rain and lightning,” said Norris.
Olds resident Greg Erikson says the sky was pitch black as it passed overhead.
“The clouds were black and swirling, I didn’t see the tornado, but it looked like it could possible turn into a tornado,” said Erikson. “The lamp posts, you could see them swerving in the wind, the actual lamp posts that have the street lights on them.”
Meteorologist Louis Kohanyi with Environment Canada says they received calls about several tornadoes touching down in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
