Severe thunderstorm hits Calgary

Hail hit some areas of north Calgary as a severe thunderstorm clipped the city as it moved northeast.

Regular 660News listener Stephen called from near Canada Olympic Park.

“People are coming over on the side here on 16th at Sarcee, I see one motorcycle guy without a helmet who had to pull over. It’s getting heavier and heavier, I can see some lightning,” said Stephen.

Stephen says the hail was marble sized where he was.

Darryl called the 660News about hail near Nosehill. “It is moving to the east reasonably quick, nothing major accumulating on the ground yet,” said Darryl.
