Calgary Stampede a success

The men in charge of the Calgary Stampede are celebrating the success of this years event as tear down continues on Stampede Park.

Rodeo officials say 20 per cent of the 1.4 million people that walked through the gates were visitors, and 30 per cent were first time Stampede goers.

“Our visitors came with high expectations and initial results from our guest research shows that we met or exceeded the expectations of 94 per cent of our guests,” said Mike Casey, Stampede president.

The numbers also show more than half took part in community events including the fireworks shows.
