The final day of the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth also marked the biggest day in chuckwagon races for the 10 day event.
Four veterans of the sport raced for the prestigious title and $100,000 payday for the winner of the GMC Rangeland Derby.
Jason Glass, Doug Irvine, Gary Gorst and Troy Dorchester earned their way into Sunday’s final heat after their performances in Saturday’s semi-finals.
Dorchester made the most of the opportunity, capturing the title and growing his prize money to $200,000 in two weeks.
Dorchester held the best time overall during the Stampede, as well as a victory at the Ponoka Stampede a week earlier.
