SE ring road on track for 2013 opening

There is a light at the end of the Ring Road tunnel!

The south east/Stoney Trail portion should be close to finished by this time next year.

“We are part way through the construction and development of that roadway, it started in 2010 and it’s going to fully open to traffic by the fall of 2013,” said Alberta Transportation spokesman Trent Bancarz.

He adds the north west interchange at Nose Hill drive will be in place in the summer of 2014,  “That project will take the last set of lights off of Stoney Trail.”

Bancarz says the company in charge of construction could pay up to $1-million a day, each day it is over the scheduled completion date.
