Red Deer RCMP investigating possible assault

Red Deer RCMP are looking for more information into an aggravated assault case.
Around 1.p.m. Wednesday RCMP received a complaint of a serious assault which took place downtown earlier in the week.
It’s alleged that early Sunday morning the 24 year old man from Red Deer was walking alone when he was approached by a group of four men and one asked for a cigarette.
When the victim declined, he was punched in the face at least twice and fell to the ground.
The group continued to assault the victim by punching and kicking him while he was on the ground.
The victim suffered multiple facial and head injuries which required him to be hospitalized.
