Parks Canada warns drivers against more mudslides

Parks Canada officials say motorists passing through the mountains need to be prepared in case of more mudslides.

They say the ground is still saturated and all it takes is a thunderstorm to set off a slide.

The Trans Canada Highway reopened late Friday night after a torrent of mud, trees and rocks swept over the lanes earlier in the day.

Parks Canada’s advice is to pack as if you might have to spend a night or two in your car.
