Province reviewing CBE busing fees

Some relief could be on the way for parents paying transportation fees for their kids to get to school.

The Calgary Board of Education is facing a formal review by Alberta Education over what it charges and whether it can legally collect noon-supervision fees for children bused to class.

The Calgary Herald reports an appeal, recently filed with the education minister, says there is nothing in the School Act that allows the school board to charge for those things.

Alberta Education created a committee who will prepare a report for the minister, who will make a decision in October.
