New students test school boards

An influx of new students heading back to class this year will put the city’s school boards to the test.
Despite the opening of five new schools last month, many of Calgary’s older institutions are in need of some upgrades.
Trustee for the public school board Pat Cochrane says the approach is “too little, too late” and even more buildings are needed.
Cochrane adds seven schools in the area also need major improvements.
105,000 students will be enrolled in public schools this year.
Another 47,000 will be heading back in the catholic school board.
