Winds put charity event in shambles

The windy weather over the weekend is spelling disaster for a local charity event.

The Calgary Swap Meet Farmers Market in the southeast was left in shambles Sunday evening, tents were twisted and thrown and homemade products were damaged.

Owner Charles Gow says a planned collector car show this weekend may now be cut in half because of the damage.

Gow tells The Calgary Sun he almost feels like crying.

He says they are trying hard to salvage what they can, and will find a way to make the event – benefitting the Mustard Seed – happen, because it is too important a cause for the community.
