Okotoks ditches population cap

It’s a dark day for the town of Okotoks; that’s what councillor Laurie Hodson says after council voted five to two to eliminate its 30,000 person cap.

According to The Calgary Herald, Hodson is worried ditching the population cap will bring big city problems to the town.

Councillor Matt Rockley says Okotoks is responding to a change in the times and hopes it will spur new opportunities.
