Home heating bills to remain relatively stable this winter

A local natural gas analyst doesn’t see gas prices rising dramatically in the months ahead.
Bill Gwozd, Senior VP of Gas Services with the Ziff Energy Group, tells 660News there is so much gas in storage in North America, even a bitter cold winter wouldn’t change things much.
Gwozd says on average, North America burns through 80 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day.
Across the continent 4.2 trillion cubic feet of natural gas is in storage.
Commodity experts with BMO and Scotia Capital says if prices do rise, the gains would be modest at best.
Gwozd says more proof of how depressed natural gas activity is, is the fact 70 per cent of drilling right now is for oil.
Energy prices will be back in the news in a couple of weeks when the National Energy Board tables it’s winter price forecast for oil, home heating oil, natural gas and gas.
