Calgary-area pilot identified after fatal helicopter crash

RCMP are releasing the name of the pilot killed when the helicopter he was operating crashed in northern Alberta.

The Robinson R-44II helicopter went down in the near Slave Lake and located in heavily bushed hillside area Wednesday afternoon.

38-year-old Glen Freeland, from Okotoks, died in the crash.

A search was launched by rescue crews from C-F-B Trenton in Ontario and C-F-B Cold Lake, along with volunteers from two helicopter companies in the Slave Lake area.
