Community helps struggling Calgary couple get married

A community has banded together to help a Calgary couple who’ve fallen on hard times get their Christmas wishes answered this week.
54-year-old Dolly Sutherland and Mark Wetter met 14 years ago and recently struggled with addiction and homelessness, yet sticking together throughout.
This holiday, Sutherland posted a request on The Calgary Drop-in and Rehab’s Centre’s annual Christmas wish list, which matches up donors with people in need of a boost, to marry her long-time partner.
When one woman decided to pay for the cost of the wedding license, others stepped in, donating wedding gifts, money for the marriage certificate, a wedding dress for the bride, and a romantic dinner out for the now-newlyweds.
