Empowering Calgary in just one day

The Cerebal Palsy Association in Alberta is holding it’s first ever event in hopes of “Empowering Calgary.”

They’ve lined up six well-known speakers all of whom have inspirational stories to share.

Development Director Joanne Dorn says the goal is to inspire, motivate and create a new mindset with Calgarians.

“The main purpose is for individuals to take something with them, whether it’s a personal or professional development, they can literally take something out of every one of these speakers,” she says.

All presenters are volunteering their time and directing the proceeds back to CPAA.

The roster for Monday’s event includes Alvin Law, Michael Kerr, Wayne Lee, Melanie Hayden-Spark, Cory Johnson and Jim Yih.

Dorn says the event has been so successful in Edmonton, they wanted to bring it here to Calgary for the first time.

“We got on the ball right away and everything just came together,” she says. “The turnout has been absolutely amazing.”

Tickets are on sale now for the event at the Deerfoot Inn and Casino.
