Autopsy expected after infant’s death

An autopsy will be performed this week on a two-month-old baby girl rushed to hospital from the northeast Monday.

EMS was called to a home in Applewood after reports of an infant in medical distress.

Police helped EMS get the girl to hospital as quickly as possible with rolling road closures to make way for the ambulance.

Police say the infant died on arrival at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

Investigators are working closely with the medical examiner to determine whether the child died of natural causes.
