Calgary police recover part of Jamaica bobsled from ‘Cool Runnings’ movie

A Calgary bar has been reunited with a piece of a stolen Jamaica bobsled from the 1993 movie Cool Runnings.

The bobsled was taken from Ranchman’s Calgary in Oct. 2020.

The front portion of it was found in northeast Calgary after police received a tip from the public. CPS is still looking for the bottom half.

Police note the “nose” is valued at about $10,000.

Ranchman’s received the sled as a gift from the Disney movie production crew, because there were many scenes shot at the bar.

The business was founded by Harris Dvorkin and Kevin Baker; however, ownership made a big shift in 2017 after Dvorkin died.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the location of the rest of the sled to contact their non-emergency line at 403-266-1234. You can also reach out anonymously through Crime Stoppers online or by calling 1-800-222-8477.
