City takes over S.E. soccer dome

The City of Calgary will soon be calling the shots at an outdoor soccer dome in the southeast.

The recreation department plans to run the Subway Soccer Centre while construction on seven new fields continues.

The Calgary Sun reports the city also plans to run it for at least a year post construction until a new operator is found.

The facility was run by the Calgary Soccer Federation for 25 years until its license expired at the end of last year.

The city takes over management on May 1.
