A Calgary father is said to have followed the rule book to a tee.
This after Calgary Fire crews responded to reports of a house fire in the 100 block of Cramond Green Southeast.
Battalion Chief Larry Fisher tells 660News, Dad evacuated the home and called 911 from a safe distance but he isn’t the evenings only hero.
He says, “Next door there was a Calgary Police officer and he noticed quite a commotion, saw the smoke phoned 911 and was told it had already been called in. So he elected to go outside and make sure nobody would go back into the building. Very commendable!”
The whole family including three children aged 2, 4 and 7 escaped the ordeal unharmed.
The home will not be immediately habitable due to the fire and smoke damage.
