Drunk drivers picked up in Peace River

Mounties in the Peace River area laid impaired driving charges against five people over the weekend.

They also issued one 72-hour roadside suspension.

The charges stemmed from complaints from the public, as well as some routine patrols and traffic stops.

To put it in perspective, Peace River has a population of only about 7,000 people.

Impaired driving kills an average of 1,200 Canadians each year.
