Calgarians gathered Sunday to help raise awareness for accidents in the workplace.
About three Canadians lose their lives in a workplace, every day.
That’s according to the co-chair of Sunday’s organized walk, along the Bow River.
Donna Yaskiw says the annual “Steps for Life – Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy” event can be an emotional time for participants.
“This particular walk helps to commemorate people who have been lost in the workplace, or suffered life altering injury or occupation disease,” said Yaskiw.
She adds about thirty similar walks are taking place in Canada this week.
