CPS ask motorcyclists to drive safe

Calgary police want to make sure bike enthusiasts brush up on the rules of the road after a deadly motorcycle crash in the northeast.

Thursday night, a motorcyclist was killed when his bike hit a barrier on 16th Avenue at 52nd Street in the northeast.

In 2012 police say there were 232 similar collisions in Calgary. Of those 141 involved serious injury and three were fatal.

Calgary police are fully expecting bikes to be out on the roads in droves this weekend and on and officers are asking motorcyclists to obey the rules of the road.
