Many people who work in our city’s largest office tower were forced out of their offices late Tuesday afternoon after complaints of a suspicious person.
The 58-storey Bow building was evacuated as a precaution around 4pm after a man was reportedly heard uttering threats.
Security officers were unable to detain the man and police began a search within the building, methodically going floor-to-floor looking for the suspect.
Duty Inspector Darrell Hess says he expects police to be on scene well into Wednesday morning but should be done prior to the building’s hours of operation.
He says they don’t believe the public is at any risk and while the incident has caused certain inconveniences for some, they’re asking for patience as they take matters of this significance very seriously.
