Subsidized housing flushed

The city’s newest subsidized housing tower is ready to go, except for one small hitch: it’s not hooked up to the city’s sanitation system.

The developers of Lumino didn’t build a sewer main for the 88 unit building off of Macleod Trail.

City Manager Owen Tobert tells The Calgary Sun, part of the development permit included Kanas Corp. building a sewer main but somehow the company didn’t get around to it.

The $23.75-million building was originally slated to open in May 2012.
