A number of summer tours will be showing off Calgary’s wild weather to some thrill-seekers.
Two sold-out groups, and a third nearly at capacity, will be flocking to Cowtown and area with Extreme Tornado Tours, hoping to see some hail, howling wind or twisters.
At a cost of $3,500, budding storm chasers get a seat in a van complete with state-of-the-art mobile radar, satellite and internet in July.
Tour leader Dave Holder tells The Calgary Sun he loves storm chasing in Canada, because tornadoes touch down often, but because it’s so sparsely populated there’s rarely serious damage or lives lost.
