From sailing at the Glenmore Reservoir to outings at the Inglewood Bird sanctuary, the City of Calgary still has some availability if you’re looking to keep the kids occupied this summer.
Michelle Tait with the Recreation Department says it may be less than two weeks until school is out but there are still some spots left.
“Parents are still going to have a harder time picking an exact camp on an exact day but we still have lots of spots. Village Square Leisure Centre does something unique where we allow a daily registration. So for those parents that don’t necessarily need day camps for the whole week, they can register just for a Monday, Tuesday,” says Tait.
She says the leisure centres have a variety of camps, from swimming and climbing to gymnastics and even cooking.
There’s even the Bucket Brigade where youth can find out what it’s like to be a firefighter.
