Bear death puzzles officials

The first bear death of the year in Banff National Park has officials scratching their heads.
A 100kg male black bear was struck by a CP Rail train east of Banff last week.
Officials tell The Calgary Sun, the death doesn’t share the same hallmarks of other fatalities on train tracks.
Parks Canada officials say there were no big piles of grain on the tracks, and no indication the bear was feeding on anything.
Bears coming out of hibernation are known to be attracted to rail lines, as easy routes to find a mate.
