First-degree murder charges laid following Red Deer homicide

A 30 year-old Red Deer man has been charged with first-degree murder.
The charges stem from a check on welfare call back in May when Red Deer RCMP found the body of 43 year-old Curtis Rangen.
The Calgary Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the death was a homicide.
Mark William Bitterman was slapped with the charge following the investigation by Red Deer RCMP along with Kamloops RCMP.
Bitterman was arrested in Kamloops, B.C. and will appear in Red Deer Provincial Court on Friday morning.
